Michael Phelps 8th Gold Medal - 2008 Olympics World Record

Michael Phelps of US creates history after he won his eighth and final gold in the Men's 4 x 100m Medley Relay at the final day of swimming in 2008 Olympics in Beijing on Sunday, August 17, 2008.

Phelps surpassed the record set by his co-team Mark Spitz for the most gold medals won at a single Olympic Games.

Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Phelps and Jason Lezak finished in a world record time of 3:29.34. They had gone into the race as defending Olympic champions, world record holders and fastest qualifiers.
