How To Convert DVD Movies To PSP Format?

How to convert or copy DVD movies to Sony MP4 PSP formats?Just recently, someone left a comment on this blog and asked me how to covert or copy DVD movies to PSP format. At first, I was shocked because why did he asked me that? First, I don't have a PSP yet (still planning to buy one) and second, I am not a tutorial guru... just an Internet addict ;0

But then I realized that this blog was titled "Your Online Guide". Maybe this guy literally thought that this blog provides tutorials and guides, so he left me a message asking his questions.

I was thinking if I should grant his request or not. His name was Anonymous so I don't know how to contact him back and tell him straightly that I don't know how to convert DVD movies to PSP format, because of obvious reason "I don't have a PSP yet". But my kind heart can't disregard his request. So instead of forgetting the message, I made a research through Google on how to convert DVD movies to PSP formats... and viola!!!

Of course, there are a lot of software and tutorials that can guide anyone on how to convert DVD movies to PSP formats... and here's the best step I have found so far.

Steps on converting DVD movies to PSP formats:
***Convert DVD movie to PSP for approximately 100 minutes
***Convert movie saved to hard drive (2.6GIG ) using DVD Decryptor software (free program)
***Transfered to AVI format (377MB) using Super DVD Ripper software (9 FREE trial uses) then you must buy Transfered to MP4 - 37MB - using the (basically free) Image Convertor 2

1. Use DVD Decryptor software to save the movie to your hard drive, for example C:\Movie

2. When completed look for the folder C:\Movie on your computer and find the vob file in that folder, generally the largest one, and right click and play it with your DVD program to see what part it is. If it's the correct movie part you now know that's the one you need.

3. Once you have located the vob file you want to transfer, open DVD Ripper and go to wizard icon. There you will see an icon of VOB to AVI button. Click it and then it will ask to locate the file. Locate the file and click it. It will SCAN THE FILE. Just wait until it finishes.

4. A parameter box opens next and just click the arrow. It then asks you to choose output file.

5. Click the file icon and locate the correct fob file. It then askes for file compression. Choose Microsoft Windows Media and then click OK.

6. Press the Start button. It will now convert the vob into avi format.

7. After DVD ripper has transferred the file, it will save it to the same folder as the original movie was in C:\Movie\viteots. Open the file and you will now see an AVI icon containing the movie.

8. Make sure your PSP is on and in USB mode then Open Image Convertor 2 and press on movie / add to list. Click the file and press OK and it will be transfered to your PSP for viewing pleasure.

Notes:
These steps are sourced from a public domain. It was my bad to forget copying the exact source URL to give the original author credits. I tried searching for it and to my disappointment, I can find the URL back. Thus, if you think you own the steps mentioned above, please leave me a message so I can give you a credit (maybe a hug... just kidding!). If you don't want your steps posted in this blog post, please let me know too ... but I am just hoping you won't ;0

To Anonymous, thanks for trusting me your query on how to convert DVD movies to PSP format, even though we don't know each other. Hope these steps will work... just follow the steps correctly and everything will went well. Just let me know how it goes, okay ;0

Send Text Message From Computer To Cellphone

Send Text Messages FreeThe Internet is a very powerful tool as anyone can almost do anything with it. No wonder a lot of people, including me, are addicted browsing online where some even spend most of their time in front of their computers. But don't you know that aside from all the features you can do with on the net, you can also send text messages from your computer to a cellphone of any network?

This might not be new to most Internet surfers, but I bet there are still some, probably newbies, who are unaware of it. In case you are interested on how to send send text messages from computer to a cellphone, then resume reading below.

Aside from sending text messages, I heard that it is also possible to send ringtone through text messages from a PC and send a text message to a landline phone. Summer Jobs 2008

Summer Jobs 2008In the Philippines, the months of April and May means three things - summer season, graduation, and vacation. I am sure most of the college and high school students are enjoying while having their summer vacation.

Meanwhile, I bet there are some who took summer courses or summer jobs to generate extra income. Speaking of making extra money this summer, there are actually a lot of ways to do so... and blogging is one way. But I am not recommending blogging since this niche is not easy. It takes a lot of patience and time before you can actually make money with a blog.

Going back to summer jobs, there are actually a lot of companies and establishments that offer summer jobs for teenagers, summer jobs for college students, summer jobs for teachers, and even summer jobs abroad. But don't you know that you can create your own summer job without working for other people or company? With a little money, some hard work, and a lot of entrepreneurial spirit, you can start turning a profit immediately.

Here are some summer job ideas to make some quick cash this season and be your own boss.

1. Go where it's hot, and help people keep cool. There are plenty of public places that don't have snack bars, and even the convenience store's just not convenient enough. Bottled water, sports drinks, visors, cheap sunglasses, and battery-powered fans will sell anywhere there's sun. Try parks, the beach, baseball practice field, or even a busy street corner near popular summer destinations.

2. House sitting and pet sitting. Summer is family vacation time, and someone has to watch the pets and take the mail and newspaper in when everybody leaves for a week or two. If you can target your marketing to families, that will be most effective.

3. Mobile car detailing. People love convenience, and the idea of having your car cleaned while it's already sitting there at their home or office sure beats the heck out of taking it someplace and having to wait on it. Luxury car owners may be reluctant to use machine washes, and especially owners of high-top vans and pick-up trucks may not even be able to.

4. Summer nanny / babysitter. For working parents of school-age kids, summer presents a real challenge. Summer camp may take care of a few weeks, a family trip another week or two, but then what about the rest of the summer? Find two or three families, or one with several kids, and take care of the kids during the day.

5. Tutoring and teaching. Opportunities abound for the entrepreneurially-minded person with knowledge to share. Some kids need help catching up on one or two subjects, homeschoolers usually school year 'round, and many parents put their kids in summer classes on a fun topic like science, drama, or creative writing. You can tutor individual kids, or put together a group workshop or week-long class.

Looks like everyone, especially some bloggers, is addicted with the features of a Playstation portable, officially abbreviated as PSP. That's why, they are looking for downloadable PSP firmware hack too.

Honestly, I don't have this gadget yet, but I am planning to have my own after receiving my Google Adsense earnings from this Blogger blog. Too bad, I haven't received my PIN yet... and my Paypal account is not yet activated because I still have no credit card. A lot of bloggers are making money online and I am very excited to be like them ;0 Aside from buying my own PSP, I am also planning to buy an Ipod and a new printer, probably HP or a Lexmark brand.

What's The Best Anti-virus Software

Anti-virus softwareWhat's the best anti-virus software to download? I am sure every computer and Internet users have this question in mind. Almost every day, a new threat or computer virus is being developed by online hackers. Thus, as Internet browsers, our computers, especially our critical data, should be protected by the best and most reputable anti-virus software.

There are a lot of free anti-virus software that can be downloaded online, but are we sure they are secure? Without us knowing, some of the anti-virus protection we download from untrusted sources may cause corruption - or worst, lose and theft - to our computer data. So before we download and install something, it is recommended that we should know what to install and where to get it.

I did some research on the best anti-virus software available for use. I am sure all of us loves free stuffs so I included only the free anti-virus programs. Here are your choices of anti-virus for protecting your home computer against deadly computer viruses. These are the top three based on the anti-virus reviews by some computer users.

1. Avast Home Edition - a popular free anti-virus program which is ideal choice for home computers. It offers free virus protection, an intuitive interface, and regular updates. This is a solid and well-respected program to keep your computer virus-free. But again, Avast Home Edition only offers anti-virus protection, unless you pay for the Avast Professional version.

2. AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition - one of the most often recommend freeware anti-virus packages. The trial version of AVG is an excellent virus protection program, but it lacks the anti-spam, anti-spyware or firewall features, unless you upgrade to a Pro.

3. NOD32 for Windows - another popular and powerful home virus program that scans for viruses in the background while you work on your computer. This one quietly scans Internet traffic, e-mail, and any floppy disks you use, keeping viruses and worms away from your system.

Remember, always update your anti-virus and anti-spyware software and utilize a full system scan as often as possible to keep your computer free from computer viruses, spyware, pop-upsm malware, and any other threats.

XPCom: Event Receiver error message

Every time I turn off my computer, I receive a pop-up message saying "XPCom: Event Receiver". I thought it was another kind of virus so I made some research to confirm what is it and why am I receiving it. I found this article below which is very informative and helpful. It has guidelines on how to resolve the error and to prevent it from re-appearing. The good this is - it's not a virus!!!

There have been isolated reports of people getting an error message when they try to shut down Windows or when they are browsing the web with Mozilla Firefox. The error has to do with the XPCom: Event Receiver. The problem seemed to be connected to old versions of Firefox and some wonky anti-virus software. However, since the release of Firefox 2, the problem has started to reappear.

MozillaZine has a forum thread that is covering this problem. Check there first to see if a fix has been found. At the time of this writing, it has not.

Many users that have reported this problems are still running Windows 98. Since Windows 98 is no longer supported by Microsoft, it is highly advisable to upgrade your PC to Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Otherwise, the following techniques seem to have worked for some:

1) If you upgraded from a previous version of Firefox, uninstal the program and reinstall.

2) If you continue to get the error, try disabling all of your Firefox extensions.

3) Make sure that you don't have competing anti-virus and anti-spyware programs running. One anti-virus program and one anti-spyware program will suffice in most cases. You should never run more than 1 anti-virus program at the same time. Running more than 2 anti-spyware programs at the same time could also cause problems.

4) Check your firewall settings. If you are running a 3rd-party firewall, make sure that the Windows firewall has been disabled.

5) Update all of your security programs (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall) to their latest versions.

I don't why people misspell cell phone or cellular phone. Maybe because some are unaware of the correct spelling and thought that celphone, cellphone and celfone are correct. Or maybe because some are already used to text messaging and wrong spelling, that's why they are too lazy to double check their spelling or too lazy to correct it.

Anyway, if you are one of the few people who misspell the words cell phone, mobile phone, and cellular phone into celphone, celfone, celfon, cellphone, cellfone, mobile fone, celular phone, celular phone, then that's okay, as long as you are using it in an informal communication.

However, if you are engaged in a formal communication, then I recommend double checking your spelling. You don't want other people to laugh, or worst pity you, right? Especially when you misspelled the words mentioned above on your resumes or formal letters.

You should know that the correct spelling are cell phone, cellular phone, and mobile phone. Remember that celphone, celfon, cellfone, cellphone, celfone, mobile fone, celular phone, and celullar fone are all incorrect.
